The Receipt Studio

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 July 2026

This policy explains what information The Receipt Studio (“we”, “us”) collects when you use thereceiptstudio.com, and what we do with it. We’ve tried to keep it in plain English.

The short version

We collect as little as we can. The details you type into a receipt template are used to generate your receipt. We don’t sell your personal information to anyone.

Information you give us

Receipt content. When you build a receipt, you enter details like business names, items, and prices. This data is processed in your browser and is not stored on our servers.

Contact and request forms. If you contact us or request a template, we receive whatever you submit, typically your message and, if you choose to provide it, your email address. We use it only to respond.

Comments. If you comment on a blog post, we collect the name, email, and website you enter, plus your IP address to help detect spam.

Payments. If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We keep records of your transaction (name, email, plan, amount) for accounting and support.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our server and analytics record basic technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring site. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Our host, SiteGround, keeps standard server logs for security.

Cookies

We use cookies for essential site functions (like keeping you logged in to a paid account), and analytics cookies to measure traffic. You can block cookies in your browser settings; the core tool will still work.

How we use your information

To operate the site, generate your receipts, process payments, respond to messages, prevent abuse and fraud, and improve the tool. That’s it. We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve explicitly opted in.

Who we share data with

Only the service providers needed to run the site: our hosting provider (SiteGround), our payment processor (Stripe), and Google Analytics for traffic statistics. Each processes data under its own privacy policy. We’ll also disclose information if the law requires it, for example, a valid legal request relating to fraud.

How long we keep it

Contact messages: up to 12 months. Transaction records: as long as tax law requires (typically 6–7 years). Comments: until you ask us to remove them. Analytics data: per Google Analytics retention settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU GDPR and the California CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at thereceiptstudio@gmail.com . We’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

The Receipt Studio is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
