The Receipt Studio exists to help people create receipt documents for honest purposes. This policy draws the line between what the tool is for and what it must never be used for. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Permitted uses
- Creating receipts for your own real business transactions
- Recreating a lost or damaged receipt for your own personal records, where the underlying purchase actually happened
- Expense tracking and bookkeeping for genuine expenses
- Design mockups, UI prototypes, and portfolio work
- Props for film, television, theater, photography, and escape rooms
- Teaching materials and classroom demonstrations
- Software testing (for example, testing a receipt-scanning app)
Prohibited uses
You may not use The Receipt Studio to create any document intended to deceive a person, business, or authority. That includes, without limitation:
- Submitting a generated receipt for reimbursement of an expense that didn’t occur, or for a different amount than you actually paid
- Presenting a generated receipt to a retailer to obtain a refund, exchange, or warranty service
- Using generated receipts as proof of purchase for insurance claims
- Tax evasion or falsifying business records
- Reselling goods with fabricated proof of purchase
- Any other fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal purpose
Enforcement
We take this seriously. If we become aware of misuse, we may suspend or permanently ban the account involved without refund, and we will cooperate with law enforcement when presented with valid legal requests. Fraud harms real people and real businesses, and depending on where you live it can carry criminal penalties.
A note on brand-styled templates
Templates styled after recognizable store formats exist for prop-making, design reference, and education. They do not create genuine documents of those companies, and we are not affiliated with any brand shown. Presenting such a document as authentic is exactly the kind of misuse this policy prohibits.

If you believe someone is misusing our tool, tell us at thereceiptstudio@gmail.com. Reports are handled confidentially.
